Justice Minister Brajesh Pathak sews cloth at a tailor’s shop in Lucknow during the BJP’s door-to-door campaign

Attempting to forge an alliance with the people, UP Justice Minister Brajesh Pathak tried his hand at a sewing machine at a tailor’s in the state capital on Tuesday and claimed the people “will challenge “the elections in its place.

Pathak was seen sewing a piece of green cloth in the tailor’s shop.

Speaking to reporters, he said, “This is my locality (Vikramaditya Marg), and I go from house to house according to the guidelines of the Election Commission. We apply ’tilak’ and chandan (wood pulp sandalwood) on people’s foreheads. People from all religions and all walks of life are coming out of their homes to bless us. We will improve our 2017 tally (by 325 seats).” As the Electoral Commission imposed a moratorium on holding rallies and public gatherings due to a surge in coronavirus cases, the BJP launched a door-to-door campaign on Tuesday to reach voters in Uttar Pradesh.

He added: “The way the party reaches out to the people, I don’t think I have to work a lot. The people themselves will elect me.”
