Union Justice Minister Kiren Rijiju shoots Uddhav Thackeray, Maharashtra CM retorts | Aurangabad News

AURANGABAD: The inauguration of two new wings of the Aurangabad Bench of the Bombay High Court on Saturday saw an exchange of words between Union Justice Minister Kiren Rijiju and Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
At the end of his official speech on the occasion, Rijiju said the foundation stone for two buildings had been laid during the tenure of former Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and called its inauguration at the hands of Thackeray an example of “teamwork”.
During his speech, Thackeray referred to Rijiju’s comments.
“Yes, I came here today (Saturday) only to hoist the flag as a sign of inauguration. However, I am committed to the inauguration of the new complex of the High Court of Bombay at the main bench to take place soon and it will be accomplished during my tenure only,” he said.
Fadnavis, during his tenure, had laid the foundation stone for the Bombay High Court’s Aurangabad Bench annex building in July 2018. BJP and Shiv Sena had clashed to take credit for Chipi Airport in Sindhudurga district. Before the official inauguration of the airport on October 9, both sides had posted posters claiming credit.
Earlier, during his speech, Rijiju stressed the need to bridge the gap between the justice system and the public. “We are the largest democracy in the world and sincere efforts can secure justice for all despite many challenges,” he said.
Thackeray pledged his efforts for speedy justice for all. “On this occasion, I promise you all that my government will strongly support efforts to strengthen our justice system,” he said.
